We finally got around to hiking Le Scotora, a 16 km (9.9 miles) roundtrip hike to the Andante mount (809 m – 2,654 ft). Nice 15.5km trail in the Jacques-Cartier National Park.
No lookout until the end, but the end view is absolutely worth the hike. I'm usually a mosquito's favourite food but I only got bit once (at the peak when I had stopped moving) and the mosquito was huge - I actually felt it sting. We saw lots of beaver dams but no beavers. Nice wide trail. Endurance may be challenged. Given the recent rains, some parts of the trail are still flooded. Elevation gain is pretty smooth and gradual. The view from the summit is incredible. Le Scotora Trail [CLOSED] is a 9.8 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Lac-Croche, Quebec, Canada that features a lake and is rated as moderate. Unfortunately it was cloudy and rained lightly intermittently, so there wasn't much of a view at the top. Hiking poles would be helpful for nervous hikers.
The Scotora is a 16.6 km (round trip) trail located at kilometer 29 of the Jacques-Cartier National Park. Jacques Cartier National Park may be one of the most beautiful places for hiking near Montreal, and the Le Scotora Trail is the cream of the crop. Absolutely incredible view at the summit !Superbe point de vue à l'arrivée. A small cottage is located at km 16 at the beginning of the trail.Of all the trails, this one is in my opinion the most difficult of the park for people with balance and joint problems. We did however spot a huge heron!
